Thanh Tien ReBloom Experience Activity – Flowers of the Past Bloom Again

Thanh Tien ReBloom is a community initiative carried out in the 300-year-old paper flower craft village in Thanh Tien, Hue. Through the connection between traditional and contemporary values, the project hopes to contribute to opening up a dialogue between the past and the present, between manual hands and new creative inspiration from young people in an effort to continue writing a story that needs to be continued.

The project is part of the Community Cultural Heritage Protection Support Program – implemented by the British Council in Vietnam in coordination with the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritage Values (CHH), aiming at the sustainable development of heritage through promoting the role of the community, increasing livelihood opportunities and creative connections.

Lam Ty Ni Kindergarten is honored to be a part of this meaningful project – where children have the opportunity to experience and contribute to continuing the story of tradition and creativity.

The small, pretty hands and clear, eager eyes met the artisans making paper flowers for the first time. The children were able to see and touch the delicate petals, the crystallization of patience, meticulousness and passion. Under the dedicated guidance of the artisans, the children were able to make paper flowers themselves, the typical flower of Thanh Tien traditional craft village.

The experience not only brought joy, but also opened up a world full of color and knowledge. The innocent but curious questions of the children were proof of their rich imagination and spirit of continuous learning.

We hope that the children will be the ones to continue writing that beautiful story, the story of a craft village that is still tirelessly alive over time. Then one day when we return to Thanh Tien, we will be able to walk among the green tea hedges, listen to the rustling sound of the fields and the singing wind, hear the clear, sparkling laughter at the entrance of the alley, and see the bougainvillea clusters still tirelessly telling the story of life with a quiet, loving tone.

Because that silence… always needs to be cherished and nurtured…
