On the journey to discover interesting things about rain in the new project. The children learned together about the rain family, the water cycle, the benefits of rain, and the “terrible rage” caused by floods. Delving into those projects, the children had countless interesting questions and concerns about the topic: “Why can the uncles and aunts on TV forecast the weather? Do aliens bring news to you? Do clouds or rain come first?”… All of these urged the children to want to find someone who can answer those questions for themselves. And the person they wanted to meet was none other than a weather expert. After making their own plan to invite the expert, the children made an “appointment” with the expert at a very special location, which was the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station.
Listening and understanding the extremely lovely wishes from the children. The school decided to organize a meeting between the children and weather experts. At the same time, this is also a great opportunity for the children to explore the world around them, especially about climate, weather and weather forecasting, thereby expanding their knowledge and developing observation and thinking skills.
Here, the experts guided the children to visit and introduce the hydrometeorological station of Hue City. The children were extremely interested and eager. For the first time, the children saw thermometers to measure ground temperature, sun gauges, anemometers, air humidity meters, rain gauges, samplers to measure rainwater quality, etc. The experts introduced the names and functions of important tools in weather forecasting. The children were extremely curious and asked the experts questions about the interesting things they discovered.
- Uncle? Why is the thermometer not under the armpit but on the ground?
- Uncle? What is that house used for that looks like my house?
- Uncle? That round thing looks like a globe, doesn’t it?
- Friends? There’s a pinwheel.
- Teacher? Why does it rain? Which came first, clouds or thunder?…
The children asked many questions to the experts and the experts answered them very carefully and specifically. Looking at the smiles and happy eyes of the children, we could guess that today’s field trip was a success beyond expectations.
Before saying goodbye to the uncles and aunts, the children thanked the uncles and aunts for their dedicated guidance and answering their questions. We are always grateful to the uncles and aunts and wish them good health to complete their meaningful work.
Parents, let’s review the meaningful moments of the children’s field trip at the hydrometeorological station of Hue city.
